Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026
TrakRun is built to keep you running — not to profit from your data. This policy explains what we collect, where it is stored, why, and the control you have. In plain words: your data is yours — private to your account, never sold, and deletable on request.
1. Who we are
TrakRun (“TrakRun”, “we”, “us”) provides a running and recovery-tracking application for iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy applies to the TrakRun apps and this website.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and authentication details. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple provides and, if you choose to share it, your name and a relay email address — we never receive your real Apple ID password.
Health & fitness data
With your explicit permission, TrakRun reads workout and health data from Apple Health (HealthKit) — including running workouts, distance, pace, heart rate, active energy, and related metrics — to power tracking, recovery scores, and insights. This data is synced to our servers so those insights can be calculated and kept in step across your devices; seeWhere your data lives below. You control Health access at any time in the iOS Health and Settings apps.
- We never use Health data for advertising or marketing.
- We never sell Health data or share it with data brokers.
- Health data is used only to provide the features you see in the app, consistent with Apple’s HealthKit requirements.
Location & route data
When you record a run, TrakRun uses your device’s GPS to map your route and calculate distance and pace. Route data is tied to your workouts and used to display maps and splits.
Mood & injury logs
Any mood or injury entries you create are stored as part of your training record and used to contextualise your insights and recovery recommendations.
Diagnostics & usage
In release builds we use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance diagnostics so we can fix problems. This may include device model, OS version, and technical error data. It does not include your Health data.
Subscriptions
TrakRun Pro is sold through the Apple App Store. Apple processes your payment and manages your subscription; we receive confirmation of your subscription status but never your full payment card details.
3. How we use your information
- To record, display, and sync your runs across your devices.
- To calculate recovery scores, training load, and personalised insights.
- To provide recommendations and, if you opt in, send recovery notifications.
- To operate your account and manage TrakRun Pro entitlements.
- To diagnose crashes and improve reliability and performance.
4. Where your data lives
Apple Health holds its own copy on your device, and TrakRun keeps a local copy (via SwiftData) so the app works offline. Beyond that, your workouts and the health metrics attached to them are sent to and stored on TrakRun’s servers over an encrypted connection. That is how your recovery scores, run analysis and long-term trends are calculated, and how your training follows you from iPhone to Apple Watch and back.
Stored does not mean shared. Your data is private to your account: it is not published, not visible to other users, not sold, never used for advertising, and never passed to data brokers. We keep it only as long as your account is active or as long as we need it to provide the service, and you can ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it at any time.
5. Third-party services
- Apple HealthKit & Sign in with Apple— health data access and authentication, governed by Apple’s own privacy terms.
- Mapbox — renders the maps used to display your routes. Location needed to show a map may be processed by Mapbox to provide map tiles.
- Sentry — crash and performance monitoring in release builds.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — payment processing and subscription management.
We do not share your personal data with these providers beyond what each needs to function.
6. Cookies on our website
The apps set no cookies — they aren’t browsers. The trakrun.com website sets no cookies unless you accept them, and measures visits without cookies until you decide. Declining stops that measurement entirely. What is collected at each stage, and how to change your mind, is set out in the Cookie Policy.
7. Your choices & rights
- Grant or revoke Health and Location access anytime in iOS Settings.
- Turn notifications on or off in the app or in iOS Settings.
- Request a copy of your data, or request deletion of your account and associated data, by emailing us.
- Depending on where you live (e.g. the UK/EEA or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or delete your data. We honour these requests.
8. Data security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and app attestation — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
9. Children
TrakRun is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
